Postdoctoral Fellowship in Immunology and Infectious Disease

A post-doctoral research fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Strutt at the Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Central Florida, College of Medicine, Orlando. Research interests of the laboratory include various aspects of protective innate and adaptive immune responses against respiratory viruses. The post-doctoral fellow will participate in research focused on the study and therapeutic regulation of immunopathology during respiratory virus infection. The successful candidate will join a vibrant and collaborative laboratory team where there is also opportunity to participate in the mentoring and training of the next generation of research scholars. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in cellular immunology and/or infectious disease, as well as those with expertise in sterile technique, cell culture, molecular biology, animal infectious disease models, and flow cytometry.
Qualifications: The candidate should have a Ph.D. in a relevant life science discipline, a track record of scientific productivity, as well as excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
About our organization: The Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences (BSBS) within the College of Medicine at the University of Central Florida is a research and education dedicated enterprise. The College of Medicine is unique nationally because of the large undergraduate and graduate programs; BSBS has almost 3,000 undergraduates and 140 graduate students. BSBS research activities are conducted in well-equipped facilities located on UCF’s main campus, in the Central Florida Research Park, and in the Burnett Biomedical Sciences Building on UCF’s Health Sciences Campus located in Medical City at Lake Nona in Orlando, FL.
